— Meet The Team
Care That Feels Like Home, Every Day
As a family-run home, we understand how important it is to feel comfortable, supported and truly cared for. Our approach is centred around each individual, helping residents live as independently as possible while knowing our team is always close at hand. From day-to-day support to the little personal touches that make a difference, we create an environment where residents feel safe, valued, and at home.
— Owners & Family
Built on Familiy Values
Burgh House was reborn in 1999 when purchased by Jon and Julie, with a simple aim — to create a place where people would feel genuinely cared for, comfortable, and at home. Nearly four decades since the home was first founded, that same family ethos remains at the heart of everything we do.
Today, the home continues to be led by the family, with Son, Russell, playing a key hands-on role in its day-to-day life and ongoing development. From improvements to the home and gardens to the small details that make a difference, his practical, proactive approach helps ensure Burgh House continues to evolve while maintaining the warm, personal feel it’s known for.
“The team went above and beyond to make his days comfortable and meaningful, and their unwavering support brought our whole family immense peace of mind.”
Sara H (Daughter of Resident)
— Leadsership Team
Experienced, Supportive Leadership
Our leadership team plays a key role in maintaining the high standards of care at Burgh House. With a hands-on approach and a genuine commitment to residents and staff, they ensure the home runs smoothly day to day while creating a supportive, positive environment for everyone.
Shonah, Registered Manager
Shonah joined Burgh House in 2023 as Registered Manager, bringing with her over 30 years of extensive experience in health and social care. She holds an NVQ Level 4 qualification and is passionate about delivering high-quality, person-centred care. Shonah leads the team with warmth and professionalism, always focused on ensuring residents feel safe, supported and valued.
Em & Chloe, Deputy Managers
Em and Chloe are both experienced Deputy Managers who play an integral role in the day-to-day running of the home. Having both started as carers and progressed into their current roles, they bring a deep understanding of the home and the needs of both residents and staff. Taking a hands-on approach, they regularly work on the floor alongside the care team, as well as supporting operations behind the scenes.
Together, they oversee the medication system and lead the care staff, ensuring consistency and high standards throughout the home. Chloe holds an NVQ Level 5 qualification and Em holds Level 3, and both continually seek out and undertake ongoing training — helping to support both residents and the wider team every day.
A Team That Feels Like Family
From leadership to care staff, our team works closely together to create a warm, supportive environment where residents and families feel part of something special.
— Our Care Team
Dedicated, Experienced & Compassionate
At the heart of Burgh House is our dedicated team of over 40 carers, whose kindness, patience and commitment make a real difference every day. Many of our staff have been with us for a number of years — some for over 25 years — creating a sense of familiarity, continuity and trust for both residents and their families.
Our team is highly trained and experienced, with a wide range of specialist knowledge across all aspects of care. More importantly, they take genuine pride in what they do — building meaningful relationships, offering reassurance, and supporting each resident with warmth, dignity and respect.
It’s this consistency and dedication that helps make Burgh House feel like home.
