In-House Activities & Entertainment
Life at Burgh House is shaped around the people who live here, with each day offering a balance of activity, companionship and time to relax. From group activities and social events to quieter moments and personal interests, residents are encouraged to spend their time in a way that feels right for them.
Our weekly schedule is regularly reviewed and adapted based on residents’ interests, involvement and the changing seasons, ensuring there is always something meaningful to enjoy. Below is a glimpse of the activities on offer, with the flexibility to join in or simply enjoy the day at your own pace.
Staying Active
Residents are encouraged to keep active in ways that suit them, whether that’s joining gentle exercise classes, taking part in bowls, or simply enjoying light movement throughout the day. These sessions are designed to support wellbeing, mobility and confidence, all within a relaxed and supportive environment.
Creativity & Hobbies
There are plenty of opportunities for residents to express themselves and enjoy familiar pastimes, from baking and arts & crafts to a variety of hands-on activities. Whether rediscovering a hobby or trying something new, these sessions are a great way to stay engaged and inspired.
Social Time
Social connection is at the heart of daily life at Burgh House. Regular coffee mornings, board games and weekly live entertainment — including visiting singers — bring residents together, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere where friendships can flourish.
Time Outdoors
Spending time outdoors is an important part of life at Burgh House, with residents able to enjoy the garden, get involved in light gardening, or relax in the fresh air. During the warmer months, summer BBQs and outdoor gatherings offer even more opportunities to enjoy the surroundings.

Everyday Moments & Simple Pleasures
Alongside organised activities, residents are free to spend their time in ways that feel familiar and enjoyable. Whether it’s getting lost in a good book, spending time in the garden relaxing or tending to plants in the greenhouse, listening to music, or enjoying a favourite film, there’s always space for quiet moments and personal interests.
Creative pastimes such as drawing, painting, knitting and baking are encouraged, as well as board games, conversation and time spent socialising with others. For many, simply sharing stories and reminiscing together can be just as meaningful as any planned activity.
Every Day, Your Way.
No two days are the same at Burgh House. Whether it’s joining in with activities, spending time with others, or enjoying a quiet moment to yourself, each day is shaped around what feels right for each resident.
— Out & About
Simple trips, shared moments, fresh experiences.
We regularly organise trips out, giving residents the opportunity to enjoy a change of scenery and spend time in the local community. Whether it’s a visit to Cherry Lane, a trip to a local café, or lunch at the Queen’s Head, these outings offer a relaxed and enjoyable break from the everyday routine.
From days out at the zoo and bowling trips to seaside visits in Gorleston for fish and chips, fresh air and the arcades, there’s always something to look forward to. As always, residents can choose to join in as much or as little as they like, with each trip planned to be comfortable, safe and enjoyable for everyone.
