Life at Burgh House is shaped around the people who live here, with each day offering a balance of activity, companionship and time to relax. Our weekly schedule is regularly reviewed and adapted based on residents’ interests, involvement and the changing seasons, ensuring there is always something meaningful to enjoy. Residents are encouraged to keep active in ways that suit them, whether that’s joining gentle exercise classes, taking part in bowls, or simply enjoying light movement throughout the day. Social connection is at the heart of daily life at Burgh House. Regular coffee mornings, board games and weekly live entertainment — including visiting singers — bring residents together, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere where friendships can flourish.

Time Outdoors

Spending time outdoors is an important part of life at Burgh House, with residents able to enjoy the garden, get involved in light gardening, or relax in the fresh air. During the warmer months, summer BBQs and outdoor gatherings offer even more opportunities to enjoy the surroundings.

We regularly organise trips out, giving residents the opportunity to enjoy a change of scenery and spend time in the local community. Whether it’s a visit to Cherry Lane, a trip to a local café, or lunch at the Queen’s Head, these outings offer a relaxed and enjoyable break from the everyday routine.

From days out at the zoo and bowling trips to seaside visits in Gorleston for fish and chips, fresh air and the arcades, there’s always something to look forward to. As always, residents can choose to join in as much or as little as they like, with each trip planned to be comfortable, safe and enjoyable for everyone.

Burgh House is ideally located to make time spent with loved ones both comfortable and enjoyable, with plenty to see and do in the surrounding area. Whether it’s a relaxed afternoon out or a gentle change of scenery, there are a number of local spots that are perfect for visiting together.

Just a short distance away, you’ll find The Queen’s Head, a welcoming local pub, ideal for a quiet drink or a bite to eat, as well as historic Roman ruins that offer a fascinating glimpse into the area’s past. The beautiful Broadland landscape also provides peaceful walking routes, with open skies and scenic surroundings that are perfect for a gentle stroll and some fresh air.
